We aim to give participants an opportunity to present book or dissertation chapters, articles in progress, or prospectus drafts. Topics include (but are not limited to): the links between slavery, the state, politics, and political economy; resistance and revolt; gender; abolition and emancipation; and racial and cultural formations.

Please email james.shinn@yale.edu if you would like to be added to the mailing list. Pre-circulated papers will only be sent to those on the mailing list. If you plan to attend, we ask that you read the paper in advance.
