On Saturday, October 13, The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History hosted the 16th annual “Fiesta Latina,” a celebration of Latin American cultures co-sponsored by The Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies and Junta for Progressive Action, Inc. Free and open to the public, this event featured activities for the whole family, including performances of traditional and contemporary Latin American dance and music on a stage sponsored by CLAIS. Visitors also got the chance to play games, interact with live animals from Latin America, watch a live painting entitled “Still Dominicana,” and even participate in an archaeological dig in the children’s arts and crafts section.
