Haley Allen is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science. Her research focuses primarily on the legacies of authoritarianism and political violence in the Southern Cone. She is also interested in the study of human rights and transitional justice in the region more broadly. Haley is currently working on a project that examines the ways in which divergent transitional justice processes may impact the legacies of conflict-related sexual violence that persist into post-authoritarian settings, using Argentina and Chile as case studies. Before coming to Yale, Haley earned a BA in Political Science and Latin American Studies at Colgate University.
