Katie Burchfield

Katie is a junior in Ezra Stiles College studying Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. She currently works with the Owl Monkey Project to research mitochondrial DNA diversity and gene flow in owl monkeys (Aotus azarae) in the Chaco region of Argentina under the mentorship of Professors Gisella Caccone and Eduardo Fernandez-Duque. Her senior project will build on this work to better understand differences in dispersal between male and female individuals within this unique South American species.
