Hannah Szabo

Hannah Szabó is a junior double majoring in Comparative Literature and Computing-&-Linguistics, with an interest in both literary and machine translation. She is interested in the interrelations of literature, philosophy, and translation in the Hispanophone world at the turn of the twentieth century, and is currently translating for the first time into English a selection of essays and short stories by a lesser-known twentieth-century Spanish critic named Rafael Cansinos-Assens. She also maintains an interest in contemporary Spanish-language literature and poetry, and does pro-bono legal and oral interpretation through the Yale Interpretation Network. Hannah has also studied Hungarian through a grant from Yale’s Macmillan Center for International and Area Studies, and has basic reading skills in Latin and Hebrew. She is Managing Editor for the Yale Herald and the Yale Historical Review, and a Lead Writing Partner at the Poorvu Center.
