The Jackson School of Global Affairs will host a conversation with Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, former mayor of Buenos Aires and Argentine presidential candidate. He will discuss his path from Harvard into politics and how that experience influenced the consolidation of an evidence-based management model in Buenos Aires, as well as the challenges of building a centrist majority option in the current Argentine and Latin American context.

Larreta served as Chief of Government of Buenos Aires from 2015-2023, as a member of the Republican Proposal party (PRO). He is considered one of the founders of the PRO party, along with former President of Argentina Mauricio Macri, who preceded Larreta as mayor of Buenos Aires. In 2019, Larreta assumed leadership of the Argentine opposition, Juntos por el Cambio, and, in 2023, ran in the country’s presidential primaries.

The conversation will be moderated by Jessica Faieta, Senior Fellow at the Jackson School and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Colombia.

This event is open to the Yale community.
