Alberto Martinez Garcia is an architect from the School of Architecture of Madrid, currently coursing the Master of Environmental Design (M.E.D.) program at the Yale School of Architecture. His research, Architectural Palimpsests – Ecological Transformations in Spanish Colonization, examines Spanish colonial architecture in the Americas, focusing on the period between the 16th and the 18th centuries from the climatic perspective of the conquistadores that created an environmental crisis. He has lectured at Cooper Union, and the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid. His work has been published in Studio Magazine, Issue #19 – Frequency, and Arquitectura Viva, among others.
