Amit Kamma is a Pierson College student in the class of
2026. He is originally from Atlanta, GA, and is considering
majors in Urban Studies and Global Affairs as well as a Spanish
certificate. Amit is interested in global comparative urbanism,
and especially the development of cities in the Latin America.
His past research papers have explored how colonization affects
the modern geography of housing inequality in Mexico City. He
hopes to continue researching how Latin American city design is
informed by indigenous architecture, colonial influences, and
ethnic composition. Outside the classroom, Amit is a member of
the Purple Crayon improv comedy group, and he works as a
Recruitment Coordinator in the Yale Admissions Office. He is also
serving as the 2023 Director of Business for Yale Model Congress.
