Andrés Triana Solórzano is a Ph.D. student enrolled in the combined doctoral program in Anthropology and Environmental Science (YSE). His research proposes to look at the entanglements between (Creole) Indigeneity and maroonage in decolonial gestures of food sovereignty and environmental justice across Latin America and the Caribbean. Recently, he completed his studies at Harvard University, earning an A.B. (2023) in Social Anthropology and Environmental Science & Public Policy. For his undergraduate thesis, he delved into how Creole Indigeneity and maroonage manifest in the revitalization of Conuco agriculture and the pursuit of food sovereignty within his maternal ancestral community of Curiepe, Venezuela.
