Darrellyn’s research lies in the area of trade policy and its role in creating large cities in developing countries. She is primarily interested in understanding how Mexico’s history of decentralisation has influenced its trade policy as well as affected its urban development. She is interested in quantitatively determining a causal link between the openness of Mexico’s trade policy, and the effect on urban development in Mexico City.
