Sarah is a first-year in Pauli Murray College studying Ethnicity, Race, and Migration. As the daughter of a Mexican immigrant, Sarah has a particular love for Mexico and Latin America in both academic and community spaces. She has worked with migrant populations through advocacy work and legal work in the non-profit sector, and is passionate about how race and ethnicity influence people’s relationships with one another and with governmental institutions. Sarah is a staff writer/editor for the Americas desk of the Yale Review of International Studies, where her work focus on Latin American politics and culture, U.S.-Latin American relations, and migration. She dances with Ballet Folklórico Mexicano, and teaches middle schoolersn about gender, sexuality, and mental health with Community Health Educators. In her free time, Sarah loves to figure skate and catch up with friends over boba.
