During her BA and MA, she participated in research projects in various regions of the world, including the north coast of Peru. Her research interests include borderlands and interactions (both between societies and between humans and their environments), early complexity, site formation processes, and the intersection of modern political situations and interpretations of the past. Her current field project – PAPAYA [Proyecto Arqueológico de la Prehistoria de AYAbaca] – focuses on understanding the formation of a cultural boundary and cross-border interactions between the Northern and Central Andes in the final millennia BCE (modern Ecuador/Colombia and Peru, respectively).
