Adam Waters is a second-year Ph.D. student in history at Yale University with broad interests in the histories of politics, religion, and immigration in the 20th century. His current research focuses on situating the 1980s Latin American-U.S. Sanctuary Movement within a broader historical context of faith-based migrant justice movements and anti-imperial activism in the Americas in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Adam graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Brown University, where he studied modern Latin American history. Prior to graduate school, he worked in progressive political advocacy and policy research in Washington, D.C. Adam is a facilitator of the Latin American History Speaker Series for 2019-2020.
