Ximena Pulido

Ximena is a sophomore at Yale College studying Political Science and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration with a certificate in Spanish. The importance of her Mexican culture and identity has had a formative impact on her academic experiences, inspiring her to delve into courses that concentrate on Latin American history and the implications of settler colonialism. She is especially interested in researching health disparities within Latin American borderlands and border displacement within Mexican communities. At the university, she is an Elections Fellow for Yale Dems, assisting candidates in local and statewide elections. She also serves as a Research Assistant for the Institution of Social and Policy Studies at Yale. Outside of her academic and career interests, she loves dancing Ballet Folklórico and volunteers at a youth wrestling club during her free time! In the future, she hopes to combine her background in community engagement and municipal politics to uplift and amplify the voices of members within the broader Mexican-American community.
